Prime Minister inaugurated the Coast Guard’s ‘V-SAT’ communication system

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the V-SATNET communication system attached to the force with the help of various physical infrastructures of Bangladesh Coast Guard and Bangabandhu Satellite.

She inaugurated this communication system at the Coast Guard headquarters in Shere Bangla Nagar on Sunday, March 10) around 10:30 am. The Prime Minister said that to bring a revolutionary change in the communication system of the Coast Guard in the deep sea, today I have inaugurated the newly added VSAT Net system in the Coast Guard and various physical infrastructure construction works in Dhaka Zone, East Zone and South Zone to connect with Bangabandhu Satellite-1.

She also said that two new ships and helicopters are being added to the Coast Guard. Modern maritime surveillance system will be added. Bangladesh Coast Guard is going to be a three-dimensional force soon.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hasina also said that to modernize and strengthen the Bangladesh Coast Guard, advanced technology maritime surveillance system ships are going to be added to this force soon.

The Prime Minister arrived at the Coast Guard headquarters around 10 am to participate in the 29th anniversary celebrations and award ceremony of the Coast Guard.

She later presented medals to Coast Guard officers, sailors and civilians for gallantry and bravery.

VSAT is a very small connector that acts as a two-way geo-satellite. Its dish-shaped antenna is less than 3 meters in diameter, while other types of satellites have hub diameters of about 10 meters.
